Eugenie Bouchard's first-round exit at the French Open cost her five spots in the WTA rankings and pushed her outside the Top 10.

Bouchard, who reached the semifinals one year ago at Roland Garros, is ranked 11th this week. Lucie Safarova, who lost in the final to Serena Williams, moved up six spots from 13th to seventh.

The native of Westmount, Quebec has struggled to a WTA singles record of 7-10 this season, and lost two additional matches at the Fed Cup in April.

Williams' 20th career Grand Slam victory moved her even further ahead of the women's field. Petra Kvitova moved up to second after Maria Sharapova dropped back to fourth place.

On the men's side, Milos Raonic dropped two spots from sixth to eighth after he was forced to miss the French Open while recovering from foot surgery.
