The Boston Bruins announced on Tuesday that forward Patrice Bergeron and goalie Tuukka Rask underwent successful surgeries following their first-round loss to the Ottawa Senators.

Bergeron, 31, had a successful sports hernia repair on May 8 while Rask, 30, had successful right groin surgery on May 9.

Bergeron scored 21 goals and added 32 assists over 79 games with the Bruins in 2016-17, his 13th season with the team. He added four points (two goals, two assists) over six playoff games.

Rask put up a 37-20-5 record this season with a 2.23 goals-against average and a 0.915 save percentage with eight shutouts.

Both are expected to be ready for next season's training camp.
