The Boston Bruins acquired Jimmy Hayes from the Florida Panthers on Wednesday in exchange for Reilly Smith.

According to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun, the Panthers also acquired the contract of Marc Savard in the deal.

Hayes, a restricted free agent, scored 19 goals and added 16 assists in 72 games with the Panthers last season.

In 168 career NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks and Panthers, the winger has scored 36 goals and tallied 66 points.

Hayes, 25, was drafted in the second round (60th overall) of 2008 NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Smith, 24, scored 13 goals and registered 40 points in 81 games with the Bruins last season.

Since making his NHL debut with the Dallas Stars in the 2011-12 season, Smith has scored 36 goals and 100 points in 203 NHL games.

The right winger was a third-round pick in the 2009 NHL Draft.

Savard has not played since the 2010-11 season due to concussions.
