Boston, MA - The Boston Bruins on Tuesday announced the signing of 2015 Richter Award winner and goaltender Zane McIntyre to a two-year, entry-level contract.

"The Bruins are very excited to have Zane as a part of our organization," said Boston GM Tim Sweeney. "He had a tremendous career at North Dakota and while it was a difficult decision for him to leave, we all feel he is ready to start his pro development and that he will be an NHL goalie."

Back in April, McIntyre led the Fighting Sioux to a berth in the Frozen Four, where they lost to eventual runner-up Boston University. He completed his third and final collegiate campaign with a 29-10-3 record, 2.05 goals-against average, .929 save percentage and one shutout over 42 appearances.

All of the above garnered him mention as one of three Hobey Baker Award finalists, as well as the second annual winner of the Richter Award, provided to the best goaltender in Division I college hockey. In addition, McIntyre earned goaltender of the year honors in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.

The Minnesota native departs his program with a 58-24-9 mark, 2.10 GAA and five whitewashes, while holding the school's all-time records in goals-against average (2.08), and save percentage (.927), also tying the UND record for most career victories.

The Bruins selected McIntyre, who was previously known as Zane Gothberg, in the sixth round of the 2010 draft.
