The Montreal Canadiens began their off-season on Friday by signing undrafted free-agent winger Antoine Waked to a three-year contact.

The 20-year-old Waked scored 39 goals and added 41 assists over 67 games with the QMJHL's Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in 2016-17, his fourth season with the club.

A native of Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Quebec, Waked scored 68 goals and 89 assists over 224 career games with the Huskies.

Waked joins a Habs squad who scored 223 goals this season, good enough for 15th in the league. The New York Rangers eliminated Montreal in the first-round of the playoffs.
