Santa Clara, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - There was no separating the San Jose Earthquakes and Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday as the two sides shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw at Buck Shaw Stadium.

San Jose came close to getting in front in the 44th minute when Chris Wondolowski nearly capped a darting run into the box with cool finish, but David Ousted managed to produce a kick save to keep the 'Quakes at bay.

Vancouver's best scoring opportunity came in the 75th minute when Darren Mattocks played a brilliant ball to release Kekuta Manneh, but Jon Busch managed to deny the Whitecaps striker to ensure a scoreless draw.

The result sees Vancouver (11-8-14) reclaim the final playoff berth in the Western Conference after Portland's draw with Real Salt Lake on Friday had moved the Timbers slightly ahead of the 'Caps.

San Jose (6-15-12) waves goodbye to Buck Shaw Stadium in disappointing fashion, closing out its tenure at the venue by staying at the bottom of the Western Conference with 30 points.
