Former NHL head coach Guy Boucher has been relieved of his coaching duties with SC Bern of the National League A, the top hockey league in Switzerland.

The 44-year-old was planning to leave the club after this season to help his mother who is battling cancer back in Canada.  

This was Boucher's second season with SC Bern after coaching the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2010-2013.
