Sidney Crosby did not play in the Pittsburgh Penguins' preseason game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday due to the death of his grandmother.

As per a release on the team's website, Crosby has traveled back to Nova Scotia to be with his family.

Forward Andrew Ebbett will take Crosby’s place in the lineup.
