ROME - Paulo Dybala scored a stunning goal as well as setting up the opener to propel Juventus to a 2-0 win at Lazio on Friday as Massimiliano Allegri's team continues to push its way up the Serie A table.

Dybala had forced Lazio defender Santiago Gentiletti into an early own goal before coming up with a moment of magic shortly after the half hour.

The Argentine controlled Mario Mandzukic's pass, flicked it up and volleyed it into the bottom corner.

Dybala has played a part in 10 of Juventus' goals this season — scoring seven and assisting a further three.

It was Juventus' fifth successive league win and moved the four-time defending champion level on points with fourth-placed Roma as it recovers from a woeful start to the season. Roma visits Torino on Saturday.

Juventus is also through to the knockout stages of the Champions League and can secure top spot in its group next week.

"It's a positive period, but we have to stay aware and continue this trend," Allegri said. "Dybala had a good game and scored a great goal. He has important technical skills, he is growing in that role.

"But Mandzukic also did well, sacrificing himself a lot, like all the others, including the substitutes. I have to also mention (Kwadwo) Asamoah: he deserved a night of this sort after being out for a long time."

It was Aasamoah's first start of the campaign after missing most of last season with knee problems.

"Now there are important matches awaiting us and everyone will be useful," added Allegri. "So we have to remain united and positive. We have to think about ourselves, without looking at the others."

Lazio fell to its fifth defeat in six matches.

"The psychological aspect is the most important of the things we have to work on," Lazio coach Stefano Pioli said. "The players who have in their heart their own professionalism and the shirt they wear know that we are below expectations.

"We have to work to turn things around, because we have the means to do so. Naturally this has to be done quickly, because results need to start arriving."

Dybala has gone from strength to strength since joining Juventus from Palermo in the off-season for 32 million euros (then $36 million).

The forward, who turned 22 last month, proved effective again in the seventh minute. Alex Sandro's cross from the left was cut out but only as far as Dybala inside the area and he fired it back across the six-yard box where it went in off Gentiletti.

Lazio dominated possession but created little of note and never really looked like getting back into the match after Juventus doubled its lead, with Dybala's wickedly dipping effort.

Italy and Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon marked his 400th Serie A appearance with his third successive clean sheet. Juventus has let in just two goals in its five-match winning run.
