The Philadelphia Flyers will open the season without defenceman Michael Del Zotto. Del Zotto is set to miss four-to-five weeks after suffering a lower-body injury, the team announced Friday.

Del Zotto missed the final 28 games of the 2015-16 season due to a wrist injury. Prior to the injuyr, he had scored four goals and added nine assists.

The 26-year-old is entering his eighth NHL season and third with the Flyers. 

He owns 41 goals and 171 points in 433 games with the Flyers, Nashville Predators and New York Rangers.
