The Montreal Canadiens have recalled forward John Scott from the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League. The team made the announcement on Sunday afternoon.

To make room for Scott, forward Michael McCarron was optioned the other way.

Scott, 33, has appeared in 27 games for the IceCaps this season since his acquisition from the Arizona Coyotes as part of a trade for defenceman Jarred Tinordi. The native of St. Catharines, Ontario has two goals and two assists for the IceCaps to go along with 80 minutes in penalties.

Prior to the deal, Scott played in 11 games for the Coyotes, tallying a single assist.

Voted into the All-Star Game by the fans, Scott was voted as the game's MVP.

In 285 career NHL games with the Coyotes, San Jose Sharks, Buffalo Sabres, New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild, Scott has five goals, six assists and 542 penalty minutes.
