Montreal Canadiens forward Daniel Carr is expected to miss three months with a knee injury, the team announced on Tuesday.

Carr injured his right knee in a contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night.

The 24-year-old has scored five goals and added three assists in 19 games during his first season with the Canadiens.

He has also appeared in 24 games with the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League and has 21 points, including 10 goals.

Carr signed with the Canadiens as an undrafted free-agent.
