Colorado Avalanche
Mikhail Grigorenko will be in the lineup tonight against Buffalo. He has been a healthy scratch for the past three games, but coach Patrick Roy is giving Grigorenko a chance to play against the team that drafted him 12th overall in 2012. - Denver Post
Erik Johnson (knee) took part in practice today. Patrick Roy noted that Johnson looked good during the practice and he appears to be getting close to returning to the lineup. - Avalanche.nhl.com
Detroit Red Wings
Alexey Marchenko will get back into the lineup tonight. He has been a healthy scratch for the last two games, but the Red Wings need him to play again now that Niklas Kronwall is out for two-to-four weeks following arthroscopic knee surgery. - Detroit News
Minnesota Wild
Tyson Strachan has been called up by Minnesota on Tuesday. Strachan has appeared in two NHL games this season after he played in 46 last year with Buffalo. - Wild.nhl.com
New York Islanders
Johnny Boychuk (upper body) will not return before the All-Star break. That's not shocking given that Boychuk's original four-to-six week timetable gave him a projected return date of late January to mid February. - Newsday
Travis Hamonic (lower body) might be back on Friday. Hamonic will continue to practice and his availability will be based on how that goes. - Newsday
Ottawa Senators
Mike Hoffman is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. He collided with a goal post when he was driving towards the net on Monday against San Jose. It's unclear if he will be ready to play Thursday versus New Jersey. - Ottawa Citizen
San Jose Sharks
Ben Smith has been placed on waivers. Smith only played in six games with the Sharks this season. He has missed time due to a concussion, but he's also been listed as a healthy scratch on several occasions since returning. - TSN
St. Louis Blues
Carl Gunnarsson (upper body) will be back in the Blues' lineup on Wednesday. Gunnarsson has missed four straight games. He has a goal and five points in 44 contests in 2015-16. Blues.nhl.com
