Forward Milan Michalek left the game with an upper body injury. On a dump-in late in the first period, Michalek had taken a high hit from defenceman Eric Brewer and did not return to action. Also in the first, Matt Puempel was hit on the foot by a James Van Riemsdyk shot. Puempel played a couple of shifts in the second period before he had to shut it down.
