TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
Jonathan Bernier returned from the Marlies Monday and will start on Tuesday against the Lightning. Bernier went 3-0-1 during his conditioning stint, posting a .948 save percentage and three shutouts. He gave up five goals in his final start with Mike Babcock in attendance yesterday. Bernier is 0-8-1 in the NHL this season. - TSN
James Reimer, meanwhile, did not practice with the team, but did take to the ice briefly beforehand. Babcock had no idea when he would practice or return. Reimer returned too soon by the club's estimation when he initially suffered the injury late last month and as a result, Babcock said, extra caution will be used this time around. He's missed two games with the most recent re-aggravation. Garret Sparks will serve as Bernier's backup on Tuesday. - TSN
