Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Ryan Murray suffered a high ankle sprain on Friday night and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

The team announced the injury on Saturday evening.

It's the second time this season that Murray will sit out with a long-term injury. He missed 36 games earlier because of a knee injury and has been limited to just seven appearances for Columbus in 2014-15.

He returned to action Jan. 31 after the lengthy absence and played just three games before getting hurt again.

Murray, 21, was the second pick overall in the 2012 Draft. In 66 games during his rookie campaign last year, the Regina native had four goals and 17 assists.
