The Toronto Blue Jays are entering an offseason of uncertainty concerning a couple high-profile players, but one thing that is clear is manager John Gibbons will return.

Both Blue Jays president Mark Shapiro and GM Ross Atkins confirmed the manager will return for a fifth year in his second tenure with the Jays.

There has been some speculation Shapiro and Atkins, who both came from the Cleveland Indians organization a year ago, would want to insert their own pick at manager, but this report marks the second straight season Gibbons has been given a vote of confidence by the two.

Gibbons led the Blue Jays to an 89-73 record this season and their second straight American League Championship Series.
