The Toronto Blue Jays are expected to put starter Aaron Sanchez on the 15-day disabled list with "upper body soreness" after Sunday's game against the Boston Red Sox.

According to TSN Blue Jays reporter Scott MacArthur, his stint on the DL will be backdated to June 6, one day after he last pitched.

Sanchez was skipped over for his last scheduled start this past Wednesday against the Miami Marlins. Scott Copeland was called up from triple-A Buffalo and pitched seven strong innings in a 7-2 victory.

At the time, the Blue Jays said they were giving Sanchez some extra rest.

Copeland was sent back down after the game and will likely be recalled again to make Tuesday's start in New York against the Mets.
