Jets' Myers to have surgery, out for season

Winnipeg Jets head coach Paul Maurice announced Thursday defenceman Tyler Myers is out for the rest of the season. The Jets said Myers is in need of two surgeries. The first was a knee surgery, the second will be a more significant hip surgery that will require a 16-20 week rehab.

Winnipeg Jets head coach Paul Maurice announced Thursday defenceman Tyler Myers is out for the rest of the season.

The Jets said Myers is in need of two surgeries. The first was a knee surgery that Myers underwent Thursday morning. The second will be more significant, a hip surgery that will require a 16-20 week rehab.

The 26-year-old had played 73 games for the Jets this season, compiling nine goals and 27 points.
