The Los Angeles Kings confirmed on Saturday an eight-year extension for Anze Kopitar.

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger confirmed the breakdown of the details on the contract.

Dreger also notes that the deal has a limited no-trade clause in its final four years.

A native of Jesenice, Slovenia, the 28-year-old Kopitar has 12 goals and 35 points in 42 games with the Kings this season. He owns 230 goals and 645 points in 725 career NHL games, all with the Kings.

The Kings selected the centre with the 11th overall pick of the 2005 NHL Draft.
