TSN's Mark Masters reports none of the Leafs players who played in the World Cup of Hockey will suit up against the Buffalo Sabres Friday.

Matthews played for Team North America in the preseason tournament, recording two goals and an assist in three games.

Other Leafs that played in the World Cup include Morgan Rielly (North America), Leo Komarov (Finland), James van Riemsdyk (USA), Milan Michalek (Czech Republic), and Nikita Zaitsev (Russia).

Jhonas Enroth, who was on Team Sweden's roster but never suited up, is expected to play.

Rookie forward Mitch Marner will compete in his second preseason game and linemate Tyler Bozak said he's noticed a change this year at training camp.

"I think he's more confident this year. Last year there was a lot of pressure on him, he was a big storyline and he obviously is again this year, but with Auston and everything I think it takes away a little from that and that's good," said Bozak on Friday. "He can relax a little bit and have a little more fun and he's looked great so far."

Frederik Andersen, who suffered an upper-body injury earlier this month during an Olympic qualifier for Denmark, practiced again with the Leafs on Friday and says he's feeling better.

"I'm taking more and more shots and getting that game feel back," said the newly acquired goalie.

The Leafs next preseason game is Sunday against the Montreal Canadiens.

Here are the players that are expected to make the trip to Buffalo for tonight's game.
