Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman is set to undergo surgery and will miss six to eight weeks with a torn abductor muscle.

Carle is set to undergo surgery on Tuesday, the team announced on Monday.

In 46 games with the Lightning this season, the 30-year-old has four goals and 10 assists with a plus-10 rating.

Carle played in all 82 games with the Lightning last season, scoring two goals and adding 29 assists.
