The Toronto Maple Leafs gained one body and lost another for practice on Saturday.

Forward David Clarkson did not practice and will see a specialist on Saturday to determine the extent of the injury to his right cheekbone.

Clarkson was injured in a fight with Cody McCormick during the Leafs' 6-4 preseason win over the Buffalo Sabres Friday night.

Defenceman Stephane Robidas was cleared for contact ahead of Saturday's practice. The 37-year-old has been recovering from surgery to replace a screw in his right knee following last season.

Robidas practiced with Dion Phaneuf on Saturday and is expected to play in the Leafs final preseason game on October 3.

Fellow defenceman Henrik Tallinder will go for further assessment on his dislocated left shoulder on Saturday. Leafs head coach Randy Carlyle couldn't say how the injury would affect his status with the team until the severity was determined. Tallinder is with the Leafs on a professional tryout contract.

Defenceman Cody Franson left Saturday's practice early, but TSN 1050's Jonas Siegel notes the reason did not appear to be serious.

The Maple Leafs also assigned forward Tyler Biggs and Garret Sparks to the Toronto Marlies on Saturday. While forwards Trevor Smith and Abbott as well as defenceman Kevin Marshall cleared waivers and were assigned to the Marlies. The Leafs roster now stands at 36 players.
