Connor McDavid is set to return on Sunday when Team Canada faces Sweden in pre-tournament action in Ottawa.

McDavid has not played since breaking his hand in a fight in mid-November.

He has participated in practice since camp started last week, first in a non-contact jersey and then in regular activities.

Team Canada's final roster is now set after forwards Jason Dickinson, Michael Dal Colle and Rourke Chartier as well as defenceman Haydn Fleury were cut on Friday.

Other players who will be making their first appearance in game action on Sunday include returning forwards Nic Petan and Curtis Lazar, who was released to the team by the Ottawa Senators earlier this week, and defenceman Joe Hicketts.

Team Canada wraps up their pre-tournament schedule against Switzerland on Tuesday in Montreal.

Then, the tournament gets underway on Friday with Canada taking on Slovakia.
