Conor McGregor wasted no time getting into a verbal altercation with lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos at the press conference ahead of their fight at UFC 197.  The two fighters that will battle in the main event of the March 5th card met for the first time since the bout was announced.

"I believe I will dust dos Anjos inside one minute, 2015 was my year, 2016 is my year, every year is my year," said McGregor

Dos Anjos was frustrated during the presser as McGregor continued to talk over him every time he tried to answer questions posed to him by the assembled media.

"I'm not a trash talker, I talk the truth and March 5th I will send this guy back home sad and I'll keep my belt," Dos Anjos said in one of the few times he was able to answer a question uninterrupted.

Stepping up in weight, McGregor will not have to cut as low as would be required to defend his featherweight title. He's looking forward to being able to enjoy a different diet heading into the bout.

"Steaks every day for me," said McGregor. "All day long.  It's a nice feeling."

Dos Anjos believes that fighting at a heavier weight class could ultimately be the challenger's undoing.

"Lightweight is a different story," said dos Anjos. "We're the bigger fighters."

McGregor also called dos Anjos out for what he referred to as "leaving the Brazilian people."

"Your kids names are Bob and Donald," said McGregor. "Why are you raising American children? You have no home in Brazil. We have to book you a hotel."

Meanwhile, bantamweight champion Holly Holm and challenger Miesha Tate also met for the first time since their UFC 197 bout was announced.

Embedded ImageHolm believes that the ride is just beginning with her as champion.

"I still feel like I'm climbing, I don't feel like I'm at the top and it's just one fight at a time," said Holm

Tate, who has been clamoring for a title shot, is ready to once again take a run at UFC gold.

"I'm like a hungry beast and when they took the title shot steak away from me, I was pissed," said Tate.  "I'm more anxious for this fight than I would be for another with Ronda. This is an entirely new challenge."

As for the highly anticipated rematch with Rousey, Holm is putting it aside to concentrate on her defence against Tate.

"I want to keep fighting," said Holm. "If Ronda wants to come back, great. If she wants to stay in movies, great."

"The rematch with (Rousey) isn't on my mind anymore; I'm focused on Tate now."
