Reddick on the Radar?

The Toronto Blue Jays appear to have Josh Reddick on the radar in case the team fails to retain Jose Bautista.

According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the team is interested in the outfielder, though their hands are tied while they wait Bautista's qualifying offer decision.

Morosi reported Thursday that the Baltimore Orioles are also pursuing Reddick.

The veteran outfielder appeared in 115 games with the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Dodgers last season, hitting for an average of .281. He was hampered throughout the season by finger and back injuries. With the two teams, Reddick hit 10 home runs and 37 RBI while drawing 39 walks.

Reddick owns a career .255 average with 96 home runs and 346 RBI over eight MLB seasons with the Boston Red Sox, Athletics and Dodgers. He won a Gold Glove with the Athletics in 2012.

Hundred Million Dollar (Chap)Man?

Closer Aroldis Chapman is reportedly looking for a record day in free agency.

Patrick Mooney of CSN Chicago reports one agent believes the former Chicago Cub is seeking a $100 million contract.

The current record contract for a reliever stands at $50 million, handed to Jonathan Papelbon on a four-year deal in 2011.

The hard-throwing lefty posted a 1.55 ERA in 59 games with the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs last season. He posted a combined 36 saves with the two teams while striking out 90 batters in 58 innings. He allowed two home runs and issued 18 walks.

Chapman, a four-time All-Star, posted a 2-0 record in the postseason, including the Cubs' Game 7 World Series win, with a 3.45 ERA and four saves.

Paid Leave?

The New York Yankees are ready to pay half of Brian McCann's remaining salary, if the return price in a trade is right, Yahoo's Jeff Passan reports.

The 32-year-old catcher is under contract through 2019 including club options. He is coming off a 20-home run campaign in which he had 58 RBI and an average of .242.

The Yankees have an excess of catchers after the breakout rookie season of Gary Sanchez who is 20 home runs in 53 games this season.

Cecil heading West?

The Seattle Mariners are interested in Toronto Blue Jays lefty Brett Cecil, MLB Network's Jon Morosi reports.

The 30-year-old reliever posted a 1-7 record last season, though he was tagged with five of those losses in the first month of the season. Cecil finished the season with a 3.93 ERA in 36.2 innings of work. He missed six weeks in May and June with a torn lat muscle. His best stretch of the season came when he posted a 1.08 ERA in 12 games during the month of September. Cecil did not allow a run in four postseason innings pitched.

Cecil owns a career 4.20 ERA over eight MLB seasons, all with the Blue Jays. He was named the AL All-Star team during the 2013 season.

Puig staying put?

Yasiel Puig spent part of the 2016 season on the trade block after being demoted to Triple-A.

However, after spending the final month of the season and playoffs with the team, Puig "re-established himself as an important part" of the Dodgers, general manager Farhan Zaidi said Wednesday.

"“He did everything we asked him to do in the last two months, so we’re in a much better place,” Zaidi said, per the Los Angeles Daily News.

Puig owned an average of .263 on the season with 11 home runs and 45 RBI. In the postseason, he posted a .211 average with one run.
