John Morris will be on a different rink next season, and it's a familiar one.

The 37-year-old is reuniting with British Columbia's Jim Cotter after spending the past two seasons with Pat Simmons and his Calgary crew.

Morris will call the game, but Cotter will throw skip stones. The position was made available after third Ryan Kuhn stepped away from the team.

Morris played with Cotter, second Tyrel Griffith and lead Rick Sawatsky during the 2013-14 season and had a very successful run. The foursome lost to Brad Jacobs' rink in the Canadian Olympic Trials and had to settle for silver again at the Brier, losing to Team Kevin Koe.

After Koe left his Brier-winning rink the following season, Morris came aboard and they went on to win the national championship once again in Calgary with a memorable week of curling which included Simmons taking over the skip duties from Morris mid-week. They returned to the Brier this season as Team Canada, but failed to make the playoffs.

Team Simmons announced their breakup in late March as lead Nolan Thiessen and second Carter Rycroft will take a step back from curling next season while Simmons is still on the market for a new rink. The season ending Champions Cup, starting April 26 from Edmonton, AB, will be their last event, although Tom Sallows will take Morris' spot in the lineup.

Morris is one of the most decorated curlers in game, owning one Olympic gold medal, one world championship and three Brier titles.
