Bob Murray of the Anaheim Ducks, the New York Rangers' Glen Sather and the Tampa Bay Lightning's Steve Yzerman have been named as the finalists for the NHL's General Manager of the Year.

The trio represents three of the four remaining teams in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Tampa Bay saw a seven-point improvement from 2013-14's 101-point showing and have advanced to the Conference Finals after exiting the 2013 playoffs via a first-round sweep. Yzerman made a number of transactions that helped shape the current Lightning squad, especially on the blue line. He acquired Jason Garrison on the floor of the 2014 Draft, signed free agent Anton Stralman after a standout 2014 Cup Final run with the Rangers and parted with a trio of assets prior to the trade deadline to acquire Braydon Coburn from the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Ducks have already advanced one round further in the playoffs than their 2014 second-round exit. Murray made one of the off-season's biggest deals, acquiring centre Ryan Kesler from the Vancouver Canucks. He also added several pieces to the team's core prior to the trade deadline, including defencemen Simon Despres and James Wisniewski along with forwards Tomas Fleishmann and Jiri Sekac.

Murray received the award in 2013-14.

Sather's Rangers enjoyed a 17-point improvement from last season's regular season finish en route to the 2014-15 Presidents' Trophy. The team's strong regular season didn't stop Sather from making a splash, however, as he dealt standout prospect Anthony Duclair and a pair of high draft picks for Arizona blueliner Keith Yandle prior to the deadline. Sather used the off-season to deepen the Rangers ranks, bringing in veterans like Dan Boyle and Tanner Glass as well as scooping top prospect Kevin Hayes as a free agent after he was unable to agree to terms with the Chicago Blackhawks.

The winner will be announced at the 2015 NHL awards in Las Vegas June 24.
