NEW YORK, N.Y. - The NHL has given Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane a two-game suspension for boarding.

Kane hit Anaheim Ducks defenceman Clayton Stoner into the boards from behind at 19:49 of the second period of Sunday's game in Winnipeg.

Kane was assessed a major penalty for checking from behind and a game misconduct.

He will forfeit US$56,451.62 in salary.

Winnipeg will be without Kane for games Tuesday in Dallas and Thursday in Colorado.

He is eligible to return for another home date with the Ducks on Saturday.
