It appears Matt Hunwick is the odd man out on the Pittsburgh Penguins blueline.

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reported Friday it's 'looking more like' Hunwick is on the trade block for the two-time defending Stanley Cup Champions.

Dreger notes the Penguins are looking to clear cap space to bring in a forward for their playoff run.

Ian Cole appeared to be on the trade block earlier this season after sitting out games as a healthy scratch. However, Dreger notes Cole is now averaging 17:36 of ice time per game.

Hunwick, who missed significant time earlier this season due to a concussion, is averaging 18:08 of ice time per game. He has three goals and five points in 33 games with the Penguins this season.

The 32-year-old joined the Penguins in July on a three-year, $6.75 million contract - carrying a $2.25 million average annual value.

Hunwick has 24 goals and 112 points in 512 career NHL games with the Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Penguins.

Cole, who has three goals and 12 points in 45 games this season, is a pending free agent and carries a $2.1 million cap hit.
