Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Sharp could be out for "a bit” after suffering a lower-body injury against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday, according to head coach Joel Quenneville.

Quenneville noted the team would know more on Sharp's status in the coming days.

Sharp was helped off the ice in third period of Tuesday's contest after being checked into the boards by Canadiens defenceman Alexei Emelin.

In 13 games with the Blackhawks this season, Sharp has scored three goals and nine points.

The 32-year-old scored 34 goals and added 44 assists in 82 games with the Blackhawks in 2013-14.
