Jimmy Vesey has made his decision.

The free agent forward agreed to terms with the New York Rangers on Friday.

Up to eight teams had interest in the 23-year-old product of Harvard including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks.

Vesey, a native of Boston, was selected in the third round, 66th overall, of the 2012 Draft by the Nashville Predators. After the Preds were unable to sign him, Nashville traded his rights to the Sabres for a third-round draft pick in June. Buffalo was also unsuccessful in signing Vesey and he became a free-agent on Tuesday.

Vesey netted 24 goals and 22 assists for 46 points over 33 games in 2015-16, his senior season at Harvard. He captured the Hobey Baker Award as the NCAA’s best hockey player.
