The Detroit Red Wings expect backup goaltender Jonas Gustavsson to be out "a while" due to an upper-body injury suffered in Wednesday's overtime loss to the New York Rangers.

The Red Wings plan to call up goaltender Petr Mrazek from the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins to replace the Swedish netminder, head coach Mike Babcock said following the loss.

Gustavsson has a 1-1-1 record through three games with the Red Wings this season, while posting a .908 save percentage and 2.30 goals against average with one shutout.

The 30-year-old allowed four goals on 30 shots against the Rangers on Wednesday.
