There’s been speculation all year this would be Marshawn Lynch’s last in Seattle. But according to Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, it’s all been unfounded.

"If you guys ever would have asked, which you didn't, I would have told you we want him around here as long as he can play," Carroll said, according to a report from ESPN.

"That came totally from somewhere else. He's under contract next year, and we'll be thrilled to have him playing for us. We'll do everything we can to get that done."

Lynch is currently in the third year of a four-year, $31 million deal. The former first-round pick of the Buffalo Bills will be 29 next season and after nine years of heavy workload, some believed the Seahawks would be hesitant to pay his scheduled $8 million salary.
