The Anaheim Ducks have been granted permission to speak to former Minnesota Wild coach Mike Yeo for their head coaching vacancy, according to Michael Russo of the Minnesota Star Tribune.

Yeo was fired by Wild in February, after the Wild dropped 13 of 14 games in a stretch starting on January 10.

The 42-year-old Yeo was 173-132-44 in five seasons with the Wild, just the third coach they've had since entering the NHL as an expansion team in 2000. Yeo was 11-17 in the playoffs, taking the team to the Western Conference semifinals in 2014 and 2015.

Last month, the Ducks fired head coach Bruce Boudreau, who has since been hired as bench boss of the Wild.
