The Columbus Blue Jackets had their flight to Chicago cut short after a faulty generator forced the charter plane back to Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina, according to ESPN.
The flight was aborted about 30 minutes after takeoff and landed safely in Raleigh. The team was back at their hotel before 1am et.
The Blue Jackets will head to Chicago on Saturday morning ahead of their game against the Blackhawks later in the evening.
The Blue Jackets dropped a 2-1 decision to the Carolina Hurricanes in overtime on Thursday.
