Report: Ruzicka quits as Czech coach amid scandal
Former NHL player Vladimir Ruzicka has reportedly resigned as head coach of the Czech Republic national team on Tuesday after being implicated in a bribery scandal. Ruzicka, 52, coached the Czech Republic to a fourth-place finish at the World Championship last month.

Former NHL player Vladimir Ruzicka has reportedly resigned as head coach of the Czech Republic national team on Tuesday after being implicated in a bribery scandal.
According to Roman Jedlicka, a Czech-based reporter for NOVA Sport, Ruzicka was the coach and co-owner of club team Slavia Prague and was accused of taking bribes from parents so kids could continue to play for the team.
Ruzicka, 52, coached the Czech Republic to a fourth-place finish at the World Championship last month.
He played in the NHL for Edmonton, Boston, and Ottawa between 1989-94. He played six more seasons for Slavia Prague before ending his playing career in 2000.
