RISE is directed and produced by award-winning documentary filmmaker Bobbi Jo Hart and co-produced by Robbie Hart of Montréal-based Adobe Productions International, who were granted exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Canadian women's national team for a period of three years.

Told through the voices of the players and coach John Herdman, the film chronicles the team's last-place finish at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011™ to their inspiring bronze medal performance at the London 2012 Olympic Games a mere nine months later – a remarkable feat that captured the hearts of Canadians across the country.

RISE also captures the team's intense preparation to take on the world this summer on home soil at the FIFA WOMEN'S WORLD CUP CANADA 2015™. Along the way, the film takes an up-close-and-personal look at the members of the Canadian women's national team, focusing on their experiences both as a team and as individual athletes.

"RISE is an intimate portrait of a team preparing for the biggest moment of their sporting lives," said Shawn Redmond, Vice-President of Programming and Marketing, TSN. "We believe this ambitious project will remind Canadians of why they fell in love with this team during the London 2012 Olympic Games. They are a very special group."

"Documenting this historic journey of the Canadian women's national team has been one of the most powerful filmmaking experiences of my documentary career," said Bobbi Jo Hart, director of RISE. "The team spirit and fierce determination shown by these young women in the face of adversity has put soccer on the map in our country, and inspired a new generation of youth – especially girls – to believe in the collective power of their dreams."
