The Ottawa Senators lost a pair of valuable forwards to injury in their Game 3 loss to the New York Rangers Tuesday night.

Veteran winger Bobby Ryan left in the third period after taking an Erik Karlsson slap shot to the leg. Ryan sat on the bench for a few moments before leaving for the dressing room. He was having trouble putting weight on his left leg.

Fellow forward Zack Smith left in the first period with an upper-body injury after taking hard hits from Rangers forwards Tanner Glass and J.T. Miller. He did not return to the action.

Head coach Guy Boucher did not have an update for either player following the game.

Ryan, 30, scored 13 goals and added 12 assists over 62 games this season in the nation's capital, his fourth with the team. However, the American is having a great playoff, scoring four goals and four assists over nine contests. Ryan had an assist on Ottawa's lone goal of the game.

Smith, 29, had 16 goals and 16 assists over 74 games with the Sens in 2016-17. He's added a pair of helpers in nine games this postseason.

Ottawa lost the game 4-1 and now lead the second-round series 2-1.
