Vladimir Sobotka is returning to the St. Louis Blues after three years in the KHL.

Sobotka will fulfill his one-year obligation to the Blues this season stemming from his 2013-14 arbitration case, before a newly signed three-year, $10.5 million contract kicks in. Sobotka will make $4 million in 2018-19, $3.5 million in the second year of the deal and $3 million in 2020-21.

Because Sobotka was on the Blues' protected list, he is eligible for the playoffs as well.

Playing for Omsk Avangard this season, Sobotka had nine goals and 30 points in 41 games this season.

The 29-year-old Sobotka was coming off a nine-goal, 33-point campaign in 61 games in 2013-14 before the Blues lost him to the KHL.
