Markstrom’s Renewed Value
Jacob Markstrom has really turned things around this year.
The once-prized goaltending prospect was placed on waivers earlier this year, but after clearing he’s played so well the Vancouver Canucks could be considering him in their long-term plans.
Talking to TSN Radio 1040, Canucks GM Jim Benning said the team will see what the market bears for the goaltender before making any decisions.
Everything Must Go
While Antoine Vermette is the hot commodity on the trade market, he’s far from the only player on the Arizona Coyotes that could be moved at or before the Trade Deadline.
TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun from ESPN.com believes other names, including Martin Erat and Zbynak Michalek, could be moved. Star defenceman Keith Yandle, of course, is a name to keep an eye on as well.
Change of Scenery
Veteran forward David Legwand has seen his playing time decrease under new head coach Dave Cameron, to the point where requesting a trade could become a possibility, according to a report from the Ottawa Sun.
Picks to Deal?
Speaking to radio station WGR 550 in Buffalo, Sabres GM Tim Murray said that while the team will almost assuredly keep their early first round pick, they would be open to moving their two later first round picks.
