Brown, 30,  has a goal and two assists for the San Jose Sharks this season. This is a return to the Original Six for Brown after having spent parts of three seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Cracknell, 30, had five goals and five assists in 44 games with the Vancouver Canucks this year, while the 31-year-old Pardy has appeared in 14 games for the Winnipeg Jets.

McGinn was rumoured to be of interest to the Florida Panthers earlier in the weekend before their mini-spree of trades.

10:22am - Manchester United rookie Marcus Rashford has scored four goals in his first two games with the number, so maybe that's what William Nylander is thinking.

The deal is for two years and worth $1.425 million a season.

The 24-year-old in his second NHL season has been a nice surprise for the Oilers. Davidson has four goals and six assists in 47 games this season.

Plachta has two goals and five assists this season for the Springfield Falcons of the AHL.

Fayne, 28, has two more years left on a four-year deal he signed with the Oilers that has an average annual value of $3.5 million.

8:23am - In case you were wondering, there were 24 trades made prior to last year's deadline, so we're only 24 behind that pace right now. What's interesting to note, though, is that there have been a total of five trades completed before noon in the last four deadlines combined.

The 35-year-old Liles has six goals and nine assists in 62 games for the 'Canes this season.

Parenteau, 32, spent two seasons with the Islanders from 2010 to 2012. He scored 20 goals for the team in 2010-11.

In case you missed it, the Toronto Maple Leafs traded Daniel Winnik for the second time in two years, this time to the Washington Capitals,

Under the CBA, teams are limited to eating money on three contracts at a given time.

A team to watch for Hartnell might be the Nashville Predators, the team with which he spent the first six seasons of his career.

Pirri, 24, has 11 goals and 13 assists in 52 games for the Atlantic-leading Cats this season.

Interesting to note - thus far, only the Winnipeg Jets have been able to coax a first-round pick in a trade with Thursday's deal of Andrew Ladd to the Chicago Blackhawks. Will another be on the move today?
