NEW YORK, N.Y. - Vancouver assistant coach Martyn Pert has been fined by Major League Soccer for his involvement in a post-match confrontation following the Whitecaps' 2-0 home win over FC Dallas last weekend.

Pert and Dallas head coach Oscar Pareja needed to be held back by players after Pareja shoved Pert in the chest following the final whistle of Saturday's game. Pareja was also fined by the league.

It was the second altercation between the clubs in less than a month. Pert and Dallas assistant Josema Bazan were both sent off for dissent during a 2-1 Dallas win on Sept. 13.

MLS also fined New England Revolution forward Charlie Davies for embellishment in the 70th minute of a game Saturday against the Columbus Crew.
