Ben Bishop took part in practice with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday for the first time since suffering a lower-body injury in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final.

Bishop skated on his own earlier in the day and then returned to the ice to take part in the team session.

Despite joining the team on Thursday, Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said Bishop was still "doubtful" to play in Game 4.

"Ben Bishop is probably in that doubtful range," Cooper said. "That's better than being out... I don't expect him to be ready for Game 4."

Bishop had to be stretchered off the ice in Game 1 of the team’s series against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday, May 13. X-Rays on the goaltender came back negative.

Andrei Vasilevskiy has played in Bishop’s place and has stopped 107 of 115 shots across three games (good for a .930 save percentage), though the Lightning have lost both of his starts.

Steven Stamkos also returned to practice for the Lightning after missing the team’s past two skates. Stamkos was wearing a white practice jersey, clearing him for contact. He has been out since April 1 due to a blood clot in his right arm. Stamkos, however, said he remains in a holding pattern, putting his chances of playing in Game 4 at five per cent.
