The St. Louis Blues pushed the Minnesota Wild to the brink of elimination with their 3-1 win on Sunday.

However, after the game, Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau made it clear his team put forward their best effort and that he was unwilling to sell his players out.

“If you’re looking for me to criticize our team, it’s not going to happen,” Boudreau said, per the Star Tribune. “We were friggin’ good tonight, and we didn’t get the breaks. Quit trying to put words in our mouths that make us look like we’re bad because we’re not.”

Blue goaltender Jake Allen turned aside 40 of the 41 shots he faced Sunday, boosting his save percentage to .974 in the series.

Boudreau said the Wild are doing everything they can to get pucks on Allen, who has allowed three goals through three games.

"Well, if you’re looking for things, you can nitpick and find ways ... reasons we’re not that successful. But I don’t think we’re playing that bad. We had 79 shots at their net today, compared to, I think it was 47. Not that that’s an indicator of anything, there are some parts of our game that could be better, there’s no doubt in my mind.

"The one thing I’m not going to criticize is our effort. These guys are trying right to the end; they’re trying as bad as everybody. They want to bring it home to Minnesota but right now, it’s just not working.”

On the series, the Wild have outshot the Blues 117-79 and goaltender Devan Dubnyk has posted a .923 save percentage, indentical to his regular season mark. Yet, the team simply can't find a way to beat Allen.

"We’re not playing bad," forward Eric Staal said. "We just can’t score right now. If we can find a way to score a goal, I think it’s a different game. we have chances, but obviously chances aren’t good enough.”

Boudreau said the Wild, facing a 3-0 series deficit, will treat Wednesday's Game 4 and as a Game 7 situation and reminded his ream to never to say never when it comes to a comeback.

“Well, it is possible," Boudreau said of coming back from 3-0. "It’s been done. It doesn’t happen very often. When you have three games that were as close as ours, it doesn’t take a lot to turn it over. I think it’s two pretty evenly-based teams. Like our whole goal is to win Wednesday. Win Wednesday and we’ll be happy for a day and we’ll see what happens on Friday.”

Four teams have rallied to win their series of the 184 who have fallen behind 3-0.
