Wilson, 22, was the 16th-overall pick in the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft out of the Ontario Hockey League's Plymouth Whalers.

He appeared in all 82 games for the Caps this past season, scoring seven goals and adding 16 assists. He accrued 163 minutes in penalties.

In three seasons with the Capitals, Wilson has amassed 14 goals, 36 assists and 486 minutes in penalties over 244 games.

With Wilson locked up, Marcus Johansson and Dmitry Orlov remain as the team's pending restricted free agents.
