MIAMI — Chivas defender Jair Pereira was given a two-match suspension by CONCACAF and will miss the second leg of the Champions League semifinal against the New York Red Bulls on Tuesday.

The Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football said Friday its disciplinary committee penalized Pereira for "an act of physical aggression against an opponent, while the ball was not in play" in the 84th minute of Chivas' 1-0 win in the first leg in Guadalajara on Wednesday.

CONCACAF also fined Toronto and Club America for "general team misconduct" during a tunnel confrontation at halftime of Toronto's 3-1 home win in the first leg on Tuesday. CONCACAF did not announce the fine amounts.
