The NHL Department of Player Safety has suspended Anaheim Ducks forward Nick Ritchie two games for roughing Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Michal Rozsival.

The incident occured in the third period of the Ducks' 4-0 win Thursday night and Ritchie received a match penalty on the play.

Ritchie went after the Blackhawks defenceman in retaliation for Rozsival cross-checking Corey Perry behind the Blackhawks net. Ritchie threw off his gloves and connected on a punch to the face of Rosizval, who did not drop his gloves. 

Rozsival remained on the ice, receiving attention from the Blackhawks' trainer before exiting the game with an upper-body injury. His penalty for cross-checking was served by Richard Panik.

Rozsival was announced as day-to-day after the game. He owns one goal and two assists in 22 games this season.

Ritchie has 14 goals and 14 assists in 77 games this season. He has picked up 72 penalty minutes on the year.
