PRAGUE, Czech Republic -- Ales Hemsky converted the decisive penalty in a shootout for the Czech Republic to beat Russia 2-1 in their second warmup for the World Cup of Hockey on Saturday.

After also scoring one in a 4-3 victory for Russia over the Czechs in St. Petersburg on Thursday, Nikita Kucherov broke the scoreless tie at 1:04 into the final period.

The Czechs pulled goalie Michal Neuvirth to send in an extra man, and captain Tomas Plekanec scored his second goal in two games with 1:11 left in regulation, forcing overtime in which no team scored.

In their final matches ahead of the tournament that starts next weekend in Toronto, the Czechs will play Team North America while Russia faces Canada on Wednesday.
