The Carolina Hurricanes have acquired defenceman Dennis Robertson from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for goaltender Drew MacIntyre.

Robertson has five points in 37 games with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.  He was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

MacIntyre appeared in 28 games this season with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL and posted an 11-13-1 record and .890 save percentage.

The Charlottetown, PEI native was drafted 121st in the fourth round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
